BLACKSBURG, Va. – Washington and Lee juniors Elizabeth Webb (Middleburg, Va./Wakefield) and Vance Berry (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Episcopal) both participated in the 5,000 meters at the Virginia Tech Elite Track & Field Meet on Friday evening.
Webb placed fifth in the women’s 5,000 race with a time of 18:05.92. Berry finished sixth overall in the men’s 5,000 race, crossing the tape in a school-record and personal-best time of 15:30.19.
Both Webb and Berry competed exclusively against Division I competition at the meet.
Washington and Lee’s track and field program returns to action on Saturday as it competes in the Christopher Newport Vince Brown Invitational. Action begins at 10:00 am.
