
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. --- Selected members of the Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming teams competed at a last chance meet hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) in hopes of improving their NCAA qualifying times for the upcoming 2008 Division III Championships.
The Generals posted two provisional cuts on the day. Junior Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Governor’s School) posted a "B" cut in the 200 back in a school-record time of 2:07.41, while the 800 free relay team of seniors Alex Sweet (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) and Tim McGlaston (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro), and juniors Paul Crook (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell) and junior Chris Diebold (Platte City, Mo./Landsdale Catholic) improved their time to a "B" cut mark of 6:49.60.
The NCAA Division III Women's Championships will take place March 13-15, while the men's championships will be held March 20-22. Both meets will be hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
