The Leading Edge Preorientation Programs

Leading Edge pre-orientation programs take place the week before regular first-year student orientation begins, and provide incoming students with the opportunity to begin their college career with friends, a sense of community, sharpened teamwork and leadership skills, and a memorable, meaningful, and challenging experience.

Freshman Orientation

W&L's four-day Orientation Program for first-year students introduces new students to various aspects of academic and student life at Washington and Lee through formal and informal discussions with members of the faculty, administration and various student government organizations.

Parents' Orientation on Arrival Day

W&L's Parents' Orientation program begins with a President's Welcome for parents and family members of first-year students and new students on move-in day, followed by a number of sessions designed to address parents' questions before they depart campus.

Freshman Residence Halls

Tour the first-year student residence halls, view floorplans and learn about furnishings and dormitory policies.
