LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Transylvania junior midfielder Katie McKelway recorded a second-half hat trick to lead the Pioneers to a 3-1 win over the Washington and Lee women’s soccer team in the second day of the Glenn Hyundai College Classic hosted by Transylvania on Sunday afternoon at Hall Field.

The Generals (1-1) got on board first when senior forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) found the back of the net at 26:53 to give the Blue and White a 1-0 advantage at the half. However, McKelway provided the tying-goal in the 66th minute and then registered the game-winning goal at 82:46 en route to the two-goal victory.

Senior netminder Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) played the full 90:00 and made one save, while first-year goalkeeper Kara Hansel also played the entire contest and stopped two shots.

The Generals return to competition on Sat., Sept. 13 as they host ODAC-foe Roanoke at 1:00 pm.
