LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior midfielder Tommy Pignatelli (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) notched one goal and one assist as the Washington and Lee men’s soccer team posted a 4-0 ODAC win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
After 37 minutes of scoreless play, Pignatelli put the Generals on board with an unassisted goal at 37:14. W&L (6-2-1, 2-2-1) then found the back of the net two more times in the final 11 minutes of the contest off scores from junior defender Ted Grover (Lexington, Va./Episcopal) and senior forward Whitt Larkin (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) en route to the shutout.
Sophomore Ben Bartlett (Towson, Md./McDonogh) and Will Dorrance (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) split time between the pipes and combined to make three saves for W&L, while Rocawich played the duration for R-MC (3-7-1, 2-2-1) and stopped five shots.
The Generals return to the field on Wednesday when they host Lynchburg for a 4:00 pm game.
