HOLLINS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's tennis team swept all eight singles flights and all four doubles brackets at the ODAC Individual Tournament hosted by Hollins University on Sunday.
Sophomore Lauren Caire (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) won the No. 1 singles flight, while senior Kelly Will (Holly Springs, N.C./Cary Academy) notched a victory in the finals of the No. 2 singles flight. Caire downed Maggie Bai (Hollins), 6-2, 6-0, in the finals and Will defeated Megan Crook of Virginia Wesleyan, 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Leah Weston (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) at No. 3 singles topped Sarah Brudus of Hollins (6-4, 6-4) and freshman Virginia Dickinson (Memphis, Tenn./St. Mary's Episcopal) at No. 4 singles defeated Mary Sheridan of Hollins (6-1, 6-0) to the championships of their flights.
Seniors Rhodes Proctor (Raleigh, N.C./St. Mary's School) (No. 5 singles) and Katie Duncan (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) (No. 6 singles), sophomore Katie Harris (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) (No. 7 singles) and freshman Caroline Bouvay (No. 8 singles) won their flights as well. Proctor defeated Hollins' Anne Ailstock, 6-0, 6-1, while Duncan downed Megan Mathias (BC), 6-1, 6-1 and Bouvay defeated Guilford's Megan Fair, 2-6, 6-1, 10-3.
In doubles play, the team of Will and Caire (No. 1), the duo of Weston and Dickinson (No. 2), the pair of Duncan and Proctor (No. 3) and the tandem of Bouvay and Harris (No. 4 ) each won in the finals to capture the championships of their respective flights.
The ODAC Individual Tournament concludes the fall season for the Washington and Lee women's tennis team.
