
LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men’s tennis team completed play in the ODAC Singles Championship held on Saturday and Sunday at the W&L Courts.
First-year Jeremy Becht paced the Generals’ individuals by winning the championship of the “A” bracket. Becht knocked off second-seeded Kevin Calhoun of Hampden-Sydney in the championship match by a score of 6-3, 6-0. En route to his 4-0 record for the weekend, Becht also knocked off top-seeded Rich Pugh of Hampden-Sydney, 6-4, 7-5.
Fellow first-year Ben Fass also went 4-0 to claim the championship of the “B” bracket. The second seed defeated top-seeded Shad Harrell of Hampden-Sydney, 7-5, 6-2, in the title match.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sept. 20-22 as it competes in the ITA Atlantic South Regional hosted by the University of Mary Washington.
