More about:
Supporting Students

A talented, engaged and diverse student body is itself an educational resource in a University that values a strong community as part of its academic foundation.

Scholarship assistance is a top priority of Washington and Lee University.  In today's environment of rising costs, many bright young people are unable to secure the best college education.  W&L seeks to recruit and support the best students possible, regardless of their economic background.  In addition, merit-based scholarships help W&L attract top students in an increasingly competitive financial aid environment.

Some of Washington and Lee's most successful alumni attended the University on scholarship or with the assistance of financial aid. Support in this area is needed to ensure that this tradition continues.

For more information on how you can help fund a scholarship or provide financial aid opportunities, contact Dennis Cross, Vice President for University Advancement, at (540) 458-8128 or dcross@wlu.edu.

Making a W&L Education Possible for Talented Young People
Scholarships to attract and support talented students are a top priority of the University, and named scholarships are an important way donors can help the University meet this priority.

Other Ways to Support Students

In addition to scholarships, W&L seeks to support students in activities that enrich their education. Donors can help W&L support students as they conduct research projects, study abroad, or intern in their field of study. W&L also seeks donors to help support Law students entering careers in public assistance law through a special loan repayment program.
