Directions to Lexington

• If traveling from the north, south or east, follow I-81 to exit 191 (I-64). Next, take exit 55 off I-64. Turn left onto Route 11 south at the stop sign.
• If traveling from the west, take I-64 to exit 55. Turn right on Route 11 south at the stop sign.

Once on Route 11 south, drive through three stoplights. After the third stoplight, cross the Maury River and bear right onto Route 11 Business which becomes Main Street and then Jefferson Street. Pass Virginia Military Institute. W&L appears on the right.

To reach the Admissions Office in Gilliam House, take a sharp right on Letcher Avenue. Proceed to the first driveway on the left to reach the Admissions Office. Limited parking is available behind Gilliam House. Additional parking is available in the Lee Chapel lot (return to Jefferson Street - the lot is located on the next right after Letcher Avenue).

FLYING

If you are not within driving distance, plan to fly into the Roanoke Regional Airport, which is about fifty miles south of Lexington. US Airways, United, Northwest, and Delta serve the Roanoke Valley. Take I-81 north to Lexington and follow the directions above. Allow an hour to drive from Roanoke to Lexington.

AMTRAK

Amtrak serves Staunton, Virginia, which is located about thirty miles north of Lexington on I-81. No transportation is available from the Amtrak station to Lexington.
