W&L Men's Soccer Battles Buffalo State to Scoreless Double-Overtime Tie



BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Washington and Lee men's soccer team played Buffalo State to a scoreless double-overtime tie in the second day of the of the Citrano Medical Labs Kickoff Classic on Sunday afternoon at Homewood Field.

Despite out-shooting the Bengals, 20-9, the Generals were unable to find the back of the net in 110 minutes of play.

Goalkeeper Dan Corti came up big for Buffalo State (2-1-1) as he posted nine saves on the afternoon.

Seniors Ted Sheedy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and Jim Tartaglia (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) shared time in goal for W&L. Tartaglia tallied two saves, one in each of the overtime periods.

The Generals (1-1-1) return to action on Saturday when they host Marymount at 1:30 pm at Watt Field.
