W&L Golf Competes at Randolph-Macon Ted Keller Invitational



GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- The Washington and Lee golf team opened its 2007-08 season by participating in the Randolph-Macon Ted Keller Invitational held at the Hunting Hawk Golf Club in Glen Allen, Va.  After the first of two rounds, the Generals are in first place out of 12 schools with a score of 301.

Individually, the Generals are being led by senior Nathaniel James (Keller, Texas/Keller), who is in second place after firing an opening round score of one-over-par 72.  James trails leader Michael Rushin of Wesley by two strokes.

Also for the Generals, senior Steven Spivey (Martinsville, Va./Martinsville) is tied for third with a 74, while freshman Tim Gavrich (Avon, Conn./Westminster) fired a 76.  Junior Beau Allen (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) and sophomore Joe Gibson (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) rounded out the Generals individuals with rounds of 79 and 82, respectively.

The Generals are followed closely by Bridgewater (304), Hampden-Sydney (305), Wesley (305) and Randolph-Macon (308).
