LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee Blue team shot a 293-291--584 to place second out of seven teams as it hosted the Buck Leslie Invitational on Monday at the Lexington Golf & Country Club.
The Generals' top squad finished just three strokes behind team champion, Longwood College, who carded a 286-295--581. Bridgewater finished third with a score of 308-300--608 and was followed by Lynchburg (309-303--612), the W&L White team (319-313--632), Southern Virginia (373-380--753) and Emory & Henry (424-415--839).
Individually, senior Nathaniel James (Keller, Texas/Keller) was the medalist with a score of 69-70--139 (-3). Sophomore Matt Langan (Prospect, Ky./Trinity) also finished in the Top 5 with a 74-72--146.
The Generals return to action on Saturday as they begin competition for the 2008 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship at Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst, Va.
