Rebecca Benefiel, assistant professor of classics at Washington and Lee University, discussed her research on the graffit of Pompeii with WMRA's Tom Graham on the NPR station's Virginia Insight program on Nov. 16, 2009.
Benefiel has spent the last three years studying the more than 11,000 graffiti in Pompeii, which she sees as the voice of the people and a lens through which to view ancient society.
