The W&L baseball program enters its ninth season at Cap'n Dick Smith Field in 2007-08 and has won 18 or more games in each of the past seven seasons. The Generals have also posted nine-straight winnings seasons, highlighted by a 28-8 mark in 2003 and an appearance in the ODAC Championship game. Head Coach Jeff Stickley has been at the helm of the Generals since 1987 and owns 293 (293-298-4) career victories.

  Lynchburg rightfielder David Gaines registered an RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning to oust Washington and Lee from the 2008 ODAC Baseball Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Lynchburg City Stadium.
• No. 3 Randolph-Macon Tops No. 5 W&L, 13-3, in ODAC Baseball Tournament
  The third-seeded Randolph-Macon baseball team used a seven-run seventh inning to post a 13-3 win over fifth-seeded Washington and Lee in the second day of the 2008 ODAC Tournament at Lynchburg City Stadium on Friday evening.
• W&L Baseball Tops Virginia Wesleyan, 15-4, in ODAC Tournament
  The fifth-seeded Washington and Lee baseball team exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning to secure a 15-4 win over second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the opening day of the 2008 ODAC Baseball Tournament at Lynchburg City Stadium.
• W&L Baseball Splits ODAC Doubleheader with EMU
  The Washington and Lee baseball team split an ODAC doubleheader with Eastern Mennonite on Saturday afternoon at Cap’n Dick Smith Field. EMU’s sophomore leftfielder Ben Wise (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) hit a solo homerun in the top of the seventh to lead the Royals to a 3-2 win in game one, while the Generals recovered to win the second game, 8-4.

• 5/8/2008:  W&L's Madden Selected to Academic All-District Team
  Washington and Lee senior outfielder James Madden (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District III Baseball Second Team, which was released Thursday.
• 5/7/2008:  W&L Athletics Hall of Famer Norm Iler '37 Passes Away
  Former Washington and Lee basketball and baseball great Norm Iler passed away on Mon., May 5 in Venice, Fla.
• 5/7/2008:  W&L Baseball Nabs Four All-ODAC Selections
  The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its baseball all-conference awards on Wednesday and Washington and Lee had two players receive first-team honors, one player earn second-team accolades and one player was named to the honorable mention squad. Additionally, senior rightfielder James Madden (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) was named the ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for baseball.
• 4/22/2008:  A Total Of 178 W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
  Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 178 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
• 4/22/2008:  W&L Continues to Raise Funds for Wilson Field Renovations
  Through the efforts of former Washington and Lee athletes, nearly $700,000 has been raised since February 1 to meet the "Rise to the Challenge" campaign for the final funding of the Wilson Field renovation project. The alumni Generals are fast-approaching the Challenge goal of $1.5 million.
• 4/21/2008:  W&L Baseball Earns Fifth Seed in 2008 ODAC Tournament
  The pairings for the 2008 ODAC Baseball Tournament have been set and Washington and Lee earned the fifth seed and will take on second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday at 3:00 pm at Lynchburg City Stadium.
