David Hanna is in his second season as a member of the W&L Football staff after serving as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins for two seasons.

Hanna is responsible for coaching the Generals' defensive backs and special teams unit.

Hanna coached the wide receivers at JHU, helping the Blue Jays to the Centennial Conference title and the program's first NCAA Tournament during the 2005 season.

A 1999 graduate of Kalamazoo College with a bachelor of arts in psychology and a minor in sociology, Hanna was a two-time all-conference selection. He tied for the team lead with three interceptions as a senior strong safety and finished second on the team with 59 tackles. A four-year letterwinner, he also averaged 20.8 yards per kickoff return as a senior.

After graduating from Kalamazoo, Hanna studied in the doctoral clinical psychology program at the University at Albany from 1999-2003 and he later served as a community investment specialist in the City of Baltimore's Office of the Mayor.
