Ryan Wellner

Ryan Wellner is in his first season as an assistant coach for the W&L men's lacrosse team.

He comes to W&L from Stevens Institute of Technology, where he has served as an defensive coordinator for the past three seasons and helped lead the Ducks to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths. Wellner's defenses produced a pair of All-America defensemen and have ranked among the Top 10 in Division III in scoring defense.

A 2000 graduate of Mary Washington with a bachelor of science in business management, Wellner also served as an assistant coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (2004) and Chaminade High School (2003), was the co-founder and director of the New York Lacrosse Academy and served as the Director of Operations for the National Lacrosse League from 2001-2003.

He was a captain and four-year letterwinner for the lacrosse team at Mary Washington, earning the school's Outstanding Senior Award in 2000.
