Men's Cross Country

The men's cross country program dates back to 1914 and boasts a rich tradition of success that includes winning five state championships, eight Old Dominion Athletic Conference championships and the 1995 NCAA DIII Southeast Regional. In 2006, the team won its third-straight ODAC title with the help of five all-conference performers that all return for the 2007 season.

  • Three Generals Compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships
    Washington and Lee juniors Michael Welsh (Tullahoma, Tenn./Tullahoma) and Becca Taylor (Hamilton, Ohio/Edgewood), and sophomore Kat Telfeyan (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) were all in action on Saturday morning at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by St. Olaf College.
  • W&L Cross Country Competes at Regionals; Women Take Third, Men Place Fourth
    The Washington and Lee cross country teams competed at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional hosted by Christopher Newport University and held at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, Va. The women placed third out of 28 teams, while the men placed fourth out of 21 teams.
  • W&L Cross Country Sweeps ODAC Championships
    The Washington and Lee men’s and women’s cross country teams swept the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships for the fourth-straight year as both teams won their respective races on Saturday morning at the Dick Miller Cross Country Course.
