Women's Lacrosse

Washington and Lee claims one of the top women's lacrosse programs in Division III. The Generals have won nine Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament eight times since beginning play in 1989. W&L has won five-straight conference titles and has played in each of the last five NCAA Tournaments, advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2005. W&L enters the 2008 season with a 35-game win streak against conference opponents.

  • 5/4/2008:  W&L Women's Lacrosse Earn NCAA First-Round Bye
    The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the pairings for the 2008 Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament and Washington and Lee earned a first-round bye. The Generals will play the winner of Amherst and Endicott at Franklin & Marshall on Sat., May 10.
  • 5/2/2008:  W&L Women's Lax Places Six On All-ODAC Team
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its women's lacrosse all-conference awards and 2008 ODAC Champion Washington and Lee had five players receive first-team honors and one athlete garner second-team accolades. Additionally, senior defender Kat Michaels (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) was named Player of the Year, while first-year head coach Brooke Diamond earned ODAC Coach of the Year laurels.
  • 4/22/2008:  Two Generals Earn Weekly ODAC Honor
    Washington and Lee University garnered the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) weekly honor in women's tennis and women's lacrosse for the week ending April 20.
  • 4/22/2008:  A Total Of 178 W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 178 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
  • 4/22/2008:  W&L Continues to Raise Funds for Wilson Field Renovations
    Through the efforts of former Washington and Lee athletes, nearly $700,000 has been raised since February 1 to meet the "Rise to the Challenge" campaign for the final funding of the Wilson Field renovation project. The alumni Generals are fast-approaching the Challenge goal of $1.5 million.
  • 4/21/2008:  W&L Women's Lacrosse to Host ODAC Semifinals and Finals
    The sixth-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team will host the semifinals and finals of the 2008 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
