Washington and Lee has fielded a varsity men's soccer team since 1947, producing 34 winning seasons, 52 NSCAA All-Region citations and six All-America citations. The Generals have won three Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships under the direction of Head Coach Rolf Piranian, who has won more than 250 games over the course of his career. Piranian has guided W&L to the ODAC Tournament Semifinals seven times in the last eight seasons.

  The Washington and Lee men’s soccer team netted two goals in the first half to post a 2-0 ODAC victory over Randolph on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field.

  Junior forward Brandon Massie (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) tallied a hat trick to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 3-1 victory over Washington and Lee in ODAC men’s soccer action on Saturday morning at Watt Field.
• H-SC Defeats W&L, 2-0, in Men's ODAC Soccer Action
  The Hampden-Sydney men’s soccer team tallied a goal in the first and second halves en route to a 2-0 shutout over Washington and Lee on Wednesday afternoon at Miller Field.

• April 16, 2009: Numerous W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
  Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 172 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
• March 20, 2009: W&L Participating In National Sportsmanship Day
  The Institute for International Sport is holding a National Sportsmanship Day and Washington and Lee will participate on Saturday. The Generals will celebrate the day with home events in men's and women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse and baseball.
• Feb. 5, 2009: W&L Releases Third Edition of W&L Sports Weekly
  Washington and Lee University released its third edition of the YouTube video W&L Sports Weekly.
