Men's Swimming

Washington and Lee has one of the finest men's swimming programs in Division III. The Generals have been a fixture in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships over the years and finished eighth at the 2007 NCAA Championship event. Over the years, W&L swimmers have claimed four individual NCAA Championships and been named All-American a staggering 131 times since 1969. The Generals have had at least one All-America swimmer for each of the past 33 seasons and seven swimmers garnered All-America recognition last season alone.

W&L is in sixth place after six events and was led by senior Alex Sweet (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day), who the national title and broke the NCAA DIII championship record in the 50 free.

    Selected members of the Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming teams competed at a last chance meet hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) in hopes of improving their NCAA qualifying times for the upcoming 2008 Division III Championships.
