W&L women's swimming has a strong tradition that includes winning 13 of the last 14 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships. W&L swimmers have received All-America recognition 24 times since the program's inception in 1986, while the ODAC has honored W&L swimmers on the all-conference team 161 times. Seven all-conference swimmers return for the 2007-08 season, the first under the direction of new Head Coach Kami Gardner.

  Selected members of the Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming teams competed at a last chance meet hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) in hopes of improving their NCAA qualifying times for the upcoming 2008 Division III Championships.
• W&L Women's Swimming Claims 18th ODAC/Atlantic States Championship
  The Washington and Lee women’s swim program captured its 18th ODAC/Atlantic States Championship title on Sunday evening in Radford, Va., at the Dedmon Center. The Generals totaled 937 points with Randolph-Macon coming in second with 635 points.
• W&L Women's Swimming Completes Second Day of Conference Meet
  The Washington and Lee women's swimming team was in action on the second day of the 2008 ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championship on Saturday in Radford, Va., at the Dedmon Center.
• W&L Women's Swimming Begins Competition at ODAC Championships
  The Washington and Lee women's swimming team was in action on the first day of the 2008 ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championship on Friday in Radford, Va., at the Dedmon Center. After five events, W&L currently is in first place with 271 points.

• 4/22/2008:  A Total Of 178 W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
  Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 178 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
• 3/26/2008:  Nine W&L Women's Swimmers Named to All-ODAC Team
  The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its all-conference team for swimming recently and Washington and Lee had eight athletes selected to the squad.
• 2/18/2008:  W&L's Strachan, Roberson, Hayden, Miata Snag ODAC Awards
  Washington and Lee junior Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Governor’s School), freshman Tess Hayden (Winnetka, Ill. / New Trier), senior Amy Roberson (Nacogdoches, Texas/Nacogdoches) and junior Julianne Miata (Valhalla, N.Y./Westlake) all were honored following the 2008 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship Meet. Strachan was named ODAC Swimmer of the Year, while Hayden was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year. Roberson earned the women's swimming Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Miata was the recipient of the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award.
• 2/11/2008:  W&L's Simpson Named ODAC Swimmer of the Week
  Sophomore Sarah Simpson (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) was named ODAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending February 10.
• 2/4/2008:  W&L's Strachan Named ODAC Swimmer of the Week
  Junior Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Governor's School) was named ODAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending February 3.
• 1/21/2008:  Two Generals Named ODAC Athlete of the Week
  Washington and Lee University earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Athlete of the Week award for women's swimming and women's indoor track & field for the week ending January 20.
