The Washington and Lee men's tennis program is among the finest in Division III. The Generals have claimed 12 consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of the past seven seasons. The 2007 team won a school-record 20 matches and received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament. The program has an illustrious history that includes winning the 1988 NCAA Division III National Championship. W&L has also finished as the National Runner-up on four occasions.

• W&L Men's Tennis Drops Heartbreaker to Mary Washington, 5-4, in NCAA Second Round
  The 18th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to 13th-ranked Mary Washington in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
• W&L Men's Tennis Downs Messiah in NCAA First Round, 5-0
  The Washington and Lee men's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Messiah on Friday morning at the University of Mary Washington.
• Generals Men's Tennis Wins ODAC Championship, 9-0, over Hampden-Sydney
  The 16th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team defeated Hampden-Sydney, 9-0, to claim its 13th-straight ODAC championship. The Generals will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
• W&L Men's Tennis Defeats Guilford in ODAC Semifinals, 9-0
  The Washington and Lee men's tennis team improved to 16-4 overall and advanced to the finals of the ODAC Tournament with a 9-0 win over Guilford on Saturday afternoon. The Generals will participate in Sunday's championship match at 2:00 pm. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

• 4/29/2008:  W&L Men's Tennis Selected to NCAA Tournament Field
  The NCAA announced the field for the 2008 Division III Men's Tennis Championship on Monday evening and Washington and Lee will be heading to Mary Washington for the first three rounds.
• 4/22/2008:  A Total Of 178 W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
  Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 178 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
• 4/22/2008:  W&L Continues to Raise Funds for Wilson Field Renovations
  Through the efforts of former Washington and Lee athletes, nearly $700,000 has been raised since February 1 to meet the "Rise to the Challenge" campaign for the final funding of the Wilson Field renovation project. The alumni Generals are fast-approaching the Challenge goal of $1.5 million.
• 4/21/2008:  Seven Generals Tabbed to All-ODAC Men's Tennis Team
  The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its 2008 all-conference men's tennis team on Monday and Washington and Lee had seven players honored.
• 3/31/2008:  Four Generals Named ODAC Athlete of the Week
  Washington and Lee claimed the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 30 in men's lacrosse, men's tennis, women's tennis and women's track & field.
• 3/4/2008:  Both W&L Tennis Teams Picked First in ODAC Coaches' Polls
  The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its 2008 Preseason Coaches' Poll for men's and women's tennis and both teams were picked to win the conference.
