Mt. St. Joseph Tops W&L Volleyball, 3-0, at NCAA's Washington and Lee volleyball team fell to Mt. St. Joseph, 25-22, 25-18, 25-23, in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional on Thursday afternoon at Wittenberg College.
W&L Volleyball Sweeps ODAC Semis and Finals; Wins Eighth-Straight Title The Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Lynchburg, 3-0, in the championship match of the ODAC Tournament to capture its eighth-straight conference title. W&L had defeated Bridgewater, 3-0, to advance to the finals.
W&L Volleyball Sweeps Guilford, 3-0, in ODAC Quarterfinals Top-ranked Washington and Lee opened the 2008 ODAC Volleyball Tournament with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 win over eighth-seeded Guilford in the quarterfinals on Friday afternoon at Hollins University.
July 29, 2009: W&L Volleyball Garners AVCA Team Academic Award The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its AVCA Team Academic Award winners and, for the fourth year in a row, Washington and Lee was among those honored.
July 10, 2009: W&L Names New Athletic Department Assistants Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the hiring of Rachel Buck, Timothy Cole, Michael Kruger and Megan Moore as staff members within the athletic department.
April 16, 2009: Numerous W&L Students Earn Scholar-Athlete Awards Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 172 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
March 20, 2009: W&L Participating In National Sportsmanship Day The Institute for International Sport is holding a National Sportsmanship Day and Washington and Lee will participate on Saturday. The Generals will celebrate the day with home events in men's and women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse and baseball.
