Increase the Value of Your Contribution to W&L

Corporate matching gifts are a critical source of Washington and Lee’s annual support.  More than 1,000 companies offer matching gift programs. These programs which can double or even triple your gift to W&L are one of the most underused company benefits.  Some companies will only match up to $1,000 per year per employee, while other companies have no limit.  Many companies will also match gifts made by spouses of employees.  W&L adds your company's matching gift to the value of your personal gift to determine your eligibility for donor recognition levels and gift clubs (Liberty Hall Volunteers, Lee Associates, etc.).

In making your giving plans, be aware that companies match gifts and pledge payments, not pledges.

Use this link to CASE's Matching Gift Company Database to find out if your company offers a matching gift.

Please enter as much information as possible to more specifically identify the company you wish to view. This search will look in the Company Name and the Company Short Name, or in the Subsidiary Name to find a match.

Once you have determined that your company (or your spouse's company) does offer matching gifs, take the following steps:

• Get your company's matching gift form, usually available through the company's website and/or Personnel/Human Resources Department. 
• Fill out the necessary information and mail it to Washington and Lee with your gift or pledge payment.
• It is not possible for W&L to bill your company, so it is your responsibility to make sure that you have followed any instructions your company has for their matching gift program.
