M.S., computer science from Wright State University (1985)
B.A., philosophy from Bucknell University (1973)

Research Interests

Professor Lambert has worked on case-based reasoning and expert systems with Professor Mark Grunewald of the Washington and Lee School of Law. His recent focus has been on programming languages, user interface design, and object-oriented software development. He is the author of more than a dozen textbooks on introductory computer programming. 

Current Research:
Professor Lambert is currently developing an introductory computer science textbook in the programming language Python

Professor Lambert has wide-ranging interests in politics and the arts. He has taught several courses in the Philosophy Department at Washington and Lee.
