Rance Necaise came to Washington and Lee in 1999 having taught at the University of Southern Mississippi for two years and at The College of William & Mary one year.

Education

Ph.D., computer science from The College of William & Mary (1998).
M.S., computer science from The University of Southern Mississippi (1991)
B.S., computer science from The University of Southern Mississippi (1989)

Research Interests

Color image quantization, computer graphics, data visualization, advanced data structures, parallel programming, and bioinformatics.

Professor Necaise is currently working on parallel processing of image quantization and gene alignments in bioinformatics.

Other Interests

Professor Necaise enjoys playing volleyball, cycling, hiking, and reading sci-fi.
