Alpha Kappa Alpha

The mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity and friendship among college women, maintain a progressive interest in college life, solve and alleviate problems as they pertain to women and girls, and to be of service to all mankind. There is currently no undergraduate chapter on campus - recruitment will begin in Spring 2007.

Alpha Phi Alpha

The objective of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is to stimulate the ambition of its members; to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.

Tau Omega Chapter
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood of black, college educated women committed to public service. Although Delta Sigma Theta is a historically black sorority, membership is open to all who are committed to the goals of the organization. The purpose of Delta is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

The mission of The English for Speakers of Other Languages Program is to facilitate communication between the English and non-English speaking populations in Rockbridge County.

Joyful Noise

Joyful Noise is a Christian organization committed to encourage and inspire members of the Washington and Lee campus and outside communities with the gospel experience by spreading the Word of God through song and dance.

Minority Outreach Recruitment Entourage

The missions of this organization are to, in coordination with the Admissions Office, recruit minority students to Washington and Lee University as well as integrate qualified minority students into the W&L community.

Seeks to secure a just and harmonious manner to resolve our disputes and promote ethnic cultural awareness among ethnic students as well as others through cooperation with students and faculty. Onyx

The mission of Onyx is to promote community interaction among Black students at Washington and Lee University. In order to achieve this mission, Onyx will provide a forum for the exchange of economic, political, social and cultural views of Black students; expose issues pertaining to Black students along with nurturing intracampus and intercampus relationships with other organizations; and perform community service within Rockbridge County.

Pan Asian Association for Cultural Exchange (PAACE)

Hosting events within the W&L community and community at large, PAACE plans and coordinates activities creating awareness and appreciation for Asian culture. PAACE aims to introduce events and activities that will cultivate understanding and knowledge of the various Asian heritages and Asian-American backgrounds represented at W&L. The organization also seeks to provide an environment facilitating interaction within the Asian and Asian-American community. Working with other organizations and groups that promote diversity education and cultural awareness, PAACE endeavors to help make W&L a more integrated and globally aware campus.

SAIL International Development and Relief Group (IDRG)

The IDRG aims to inform and increase international relief and development awareness in the W&L community and thus promotes W&L commitment to assist developing countries economically and socially. We show our commitment to immediate relief and long-term development through fundraising on campus and through direct personal involvement at grassroots in developing countries.

Spanish House

Washington and Lee University, in its support of the Casa Hispánica, seeks to establish a social and academic environment in which students promote communication in Spanish and enhance knowledge of the numerous and different Hispanic cultures. The Casa will provide students with an environment, a true "home", in which they will learn and share language and culture.

SAIL is an umbrella focused on addressing international issues within the W&L community.
