W&L's Smith Named ODAC Swimmer of the Week

Freshman Helps W&L Pick Up Two Conference Wins

Freshman Jackie Smith (Southampton, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was named ODAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending November 11.

Smith helped the Generals to a 3-1 record over the week, which included ODAC wins over Sweet Briar (55-39) and Emory & Henry (71-12). In the double-dual meet against SBC and E&H on Friday, she took first and set a new meet record in the 100 fly (1:02.30) and competed on the winning 200 free relay.

Additionally, in an 86-9 victory over Bryn Mawr on Saturday, she competed on the winning 400 free relay (3:51.22) and was the first W&L finisher in the 200 free (2:02.02).

The Generals (4-3, 2-0 ODAC) return to action on Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to take on Carnegie Mellon, the University of Rochester and Franklin & Marshall at 1:00 pm.
