Washington and Lee University
Washington and Lee University earned the ODAC Athlete of the Week award for men's and women's indoor track for the week ending December 2. Sophomore Billy Billington (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell) and freshman Summer Lollie (Mesquite City, Texas/Dr. John D Horn) garnered the honor after competing in the Liberty Kick Off Tournament over the weekend.
Billington had a stellar finish in both the shot put and the 35-pound weight throw. Billington finished first among Division III competitors with a lifetime-best of 46’10.75” in the shot put and he placed second with a toss of 49’5.75” in the 35-pound weight throw.
Lollie set a school record when she finished first among Division III athletes in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.29 seconds. Additionally, she placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 27.99 and then leaped 9.54 meters for a fourth-place finish in the triple jump.
The W&L men's and women's indoor track team will now break for the holidays. The Generals return to action on Jan.19 at the Marietta Invitational.
