Matt Amling '09

Matt Amling is a junior business administration major from Bethesda, Md., with a strong interest in music and theater. He is president of Southern Comfort, W&L's only all-male a cappella group, and played the lead in last year's musical theater production of "Kiss Me Kate." He plans to pursue a career in marketing or finance with an investment bank or production company.

Dane Boston '08

Dane Boston is a senior English major with a concentration in poverty and human capability studies. A member of W&L's Bonner Leader program, he is actively involved in community service, particularly with the Magnolia Center, a day program for developmentally-disabled adults in nearby Buena Vista, Va. He plans to pursue a Master of Divinity degree and go on to be ordained in the Episcopal church following his graduation in June 2008.

Garrett Clark '09

Garrett Clark is a junior politics and history major from Charlottesville, Va. He is involved in a number of activities at Washington and Lee, serving as junior justice of the Interfraternity Council, publicity chair of the General Activities Board and the Washington D.C. state chair for the 2008 Democratic Mock Convention. As a leader of the University's Campus Community Coalition, he has helped to improve relations between W&L students and the local community.

Nicole Conkling '08

Nicole Conkling is a senior biology and studio art major from Ossining, N.Y. She is the captain of the cheerleading squad and musical director of General Admission, a co-ed a cappella group on campus, as well as a member of the University Chamber Singers. A recipient of one of W&L's inaugural Student Summer Independent Research grants, she is currently at work on an honors thesis in the form of a sculptural installation that bridges her interests in art and biology.

Shreya Durvasula '09

Shreya Durvasula is a junior chemistry major from Madras, India and Princeton Junction, N.J. An R.E. Lee Research Scholar and member of W&L's University Scholars program, she worked with two professors last year to develop an interdisciplinary honors class on string theory. She is a trip leader for the University's Volunteer Venture pre-orientation program, a peer tutor and a DJ for WLUR, the campus radio station.

Margaret Elkins '08

Margaret Elkins is a senior economics major from Houston, Texas. Active in student government at W&L, she is the former secretary of the Executive Committee of the student body, and currently serves as student chair of the Student-Faculty Hearing Board. She is also involved in a number of community service projects on and off campus.

Logan Gibson '08

Logan Gibson is a senior politics major with a concentration in poverty studies. Sbe is actively involved in student life at W&L, serving as co-chair of the Contact Speakers Committee, speakers chair of the 2008 Mock Convention and vice president of Omicron Delta Kappa, among other groups.

Isaiah Goodman '09

Isaiah Goodman is a junior business administration major from Richfield, Minn. A captain of the varsity men's basketball team and founder of W&L's Captains' Council, he was recently selected to represent the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on the NCAA's Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Katie Huffman '08

Katie Huffman is a senior geology and environmental studies major from Poca, W. Va. A member of W&L's Outing Club and Student Environmental Action League, she plans to continue her work at the Bureau of Land Management as a natural resource/GIS specialist following her graduation this spring.

Rohan Poojara '08

Rohan Poojara is a senior from Mumbai, India, majoring in business administration and economics. A contributor to the highly regarded business blog footnoted.org, he plans to pursue a career in investment banking, and eventually, an MBA.

Neil Sheaffer '08

Neil Sheaffer is a senior Russian area studies and European history major from Plantation, Fla. He is head dormitory counselor, co-chair of the Contact committee and Michigan State Chair for the 2008 Democratic Mock Convention. He is also active in sports broadcasting on W&L's campus radio station, WLUR-FM, and plans to spend the year following his graduation as an intern with NBC Sports.

Aparajita Singh '10

Aparajita Singh is a sophomore from Patna, India, pursuing a double major in engineering and economics. Active in a number of student organizations including Pan Asian Association for Cultural Exchange, Student Association for International Learning, Student Consulting and Peer Counseling, she plans to pursue a career in investment banking or consulting and eventually, an MBA.

Chun-Yi Sum '08

Chun-Yi Sum is a senior sociology and anthropology major from Hong Kong. The recipient of a 2007 Student Summer Independent Research grant, she has studied on six continents during her time at Washington and Lee. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in cultural anthropology.

Lauren Travis '08

Lauren Travis is a senior business administration major who plans to go into advertising after graduation. She is the president of W&L's Panhellenic Council, head account planner for the student advertising organization Aduro, director of development for the campus radio station WLUR and memorabilia chair for the 2008 Mock Convention
