Location and Hours

The University Counseling Service is located in the Fairfax Suite of Early-Fielding University Center.

The counseling center is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm when undergraduate classes are in session. When only the law school is in session, the counseling center is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Students are usually scheduled for a 45-50 minute appointment.

Emergency walk-in times are from 11:00-11:30 Monday through Friday. There will also be a counselor on-call after hours in the event of an emergency. If you need to get in touch with the counselor on-call, please contact Student Health after hours at x8401.

The counseling center is closed during the summer and holiday periods when neither undergrads nor law students are in classes. A nurse is on duty at the Student Health Center from Monday-Friday 8 AM-Noon to provide assistance when summer special programs are in session.

Students can also contact the Rockbridge Community Services Board at 463-3141, call 911, or proceed to the emergency department at Carillion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in the event of an emergency.
